ICY DOCKs EZConvert MB705M2P-B is the complete solution to convert an M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD into a standard 2.5 inch U.2 (SFF-8639) NVMe SSD with exact dimensions, connection position and mounting holes. Designed with high compatibility in mind, this adapter takes all M.2 sizes from 30 mm to 80 mm in length (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280) and allows installation without screws or tools. This allows effortless installation in any 2.5 inch U.2 NVMe backplanes, hot swap slots and 2.5 inch mounting frames as well as ICY DOCK's own U.2 NVMe SSD removable frames. The solid aluminium housing protects the sensitive M.2 SSDs from bumps and drops and also acts as a heat sink in combination with the included thermal pads. This keeps your SSDs cool and powerful even under heavy loads. Since M.2 SSDs are not designed for hot swap changes, their connections are particularly sensitive and usually designed for only 250 plug-in cycles. With the EZConvert MB705M2P-B, M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs can be changed via hot swap without using the internal connections. Instead, the connector used by ICY DOCK and rated at 10,000 plug-in cycles is used. Hot swap switches allow you to add and remove and swap drives effortlessly without restarting the system. EZConvert MB705M2P-B takes all 30mm-80mm M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280) and has exact dimensions, connection position and mounting holes such as a standard 9.5 mm U.2 NVMe SSD. The heat sink made from one piece. bbbbbbby Can be attached and removed without screws or tools, allowing easy, quick installation of the SSD. The included thermal pad can be glued to the bottom of the aluminium lid to provide additional heat dissipation. Please note: this is an M.2 NVMe SSD to U.2 SSD adapter - M.2 SATA SSDs are not supported. It is also not possible to connect to a SATA port
