The shared vision for the Kitaskeenan Kaweekanawaynichikatek (The Land We Want to Protect) Indigenous Protected Area Initiative.
Guided by our ancestors, elders, community members, and our lived experiences, we recognize the following main guiding principles.

Five Nations Gathering hosted by Tataskweyak Cree Nation (TCN) at Troy Lake
Last month, Tataskweyak Cree Nation hosted a gathering for the Five Nations at Troy Lake Camp in support of protecting our shared homelands through the 'Kitaskeenan Kaweekanawaynichikatek - The Land We Want to Protect' project.
The gathering represented an important milestone for the project with the signing of the Vision Statement by the Five Nations Leadership. This vision involves bringing together the Five Nations to protect our ancestral homelands using an Indigenous-led protected area. Each Nation was gifted an arrow that will be brought together when we meet representing the strength of our unity.
